Reyn NagamineAfter falling behind in both games, the Iolani bats ignited to score a total of 23 runs in back-to-back victories over Pac-5 on Friday and St. Louis on Saturday.

In Friday’s game against the Wolfpack, the Raiders gave up 3 runs in the top of the 1st only to come firing back in the bottom of the inning with 6 runs to start an offensive barrage that ended in a 14-4 victory after 6 innings due to the league’s 10-run rule.

On Saturday, after picking up a run in the 5th to close the Crusader lead to 8-5, senior Case Miyahira opened the 6th with a triple and sophomore Reyn Nagamine followed with a rocket over the right field fence to cut the deficit to one. The Raiders tied the game in bottom of the 7th after a leadoff triple by sophomore Kela Marciel and ended it on a walk-off RBI single to right by Miyahira. Senior Jon Okada picked up the win in relief, pitching a scoreless 6th and 7th.

With the 9-8 win against the Crusaders, Iolani is now 5-2 and 3rd in the ILH behind the Punahou Buffanblu and the Mid-Pacific Owls.
