Minor League Baseball: Alumni Report

Kila Ka'aihueKila Ka’aihue ‘02 (Wichita Wranglers - AA) - In his second stint with the Royals Double-A club, Kila has produced consistently at the plate batting .244 (50 for 205) with 9 home runs and 30 RBI through 58 games. He is currently in the midst of a four game hot streak in which he’s 6 for 12 with 3 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 RBI.

Kala Ka’aihue ‘03 (Mississippi Braves - AA) - Since being promoted to Double-A Mississippi in early August, Kala has struggled at the plate through his first 25 games, batting just .125 (11 for 88) with no home runs and 7 RBI. During his time in Single-A, Kala batted .298, led the league in home runs (22) and was among the top-3 in RBI.

Michael “Ian” Mopas ‘06 (GCL Twins - Rookie) - Ian got off to a slow start in his first three appearances, giving up 7 earned runs in just 5.0 total innings. He has since improved, making two more appearances for the club and giving up just one hit and no runs in 2.1 innings. On the season, Ian has an ERA of 9.95 with 3 strikeouts.

Keoni DeRenne ‘97 (York Revolution - Independant) - Through 60 games with the Revolution, Keoni is batting .302 (71 for 235) with 4 home runs 24 RBI and 40 runs scored. He has just 17 strikeouts to his 29 walks and has accumulated 16 stolen bases.
