CMS Football: Raiders shine in loss
The CMS (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps) Stags may have picked up their first loss of the season on Saturday, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort from two former Raiders who made solid contributions on both offense and defense.
Sophomore running back Mike Hirokawa ‘06 (shown) rushed for 95 yards on 14 carries including a 38-yard run that setup the team’s first touchdown. In the second half, sophomore defensive back Landon Patoc ‘06 picked off a Logger pass in Stag territory to spark a 10 play, 73-yard drive that resulted in a CMS field goal.
Taking a 12-8 lead into the fourth quarter, the Stags weren’t able to hold on as Puget Sound converted on two long drives for touchdowns to earn the 22-12 win.
