UW Soccer: Stephen Fung ‘06
Goalkeeper Stephen Fung ‘06 recorded his third shutout of the season for the University of Washington this weekend in a 1-0 overtime win against Furman in the Husky Fever Classic.
Since taking over for injured starter Ryan Hawkins on September 14th, the redshirt freshman has been impressive for the Huskies, helping the team to a 3-1 record during his time in goal. In his first start of the season, Stephen recorded four saves in a 2-0 upset of the No.3 SMU Mustangs to capture the NIKE/Crescent Financial Solutions Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Two days later, he earned his second shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Portland.
The Huskies open conference play next week when they travel to northern California to face Cal and Stanford on October 5th and 7th.
