Occidental Women’s Soccer: Jesi Sasaki ‘07
Jesi Sasaki ‘07, a freshman forward on the Occidental Women’s Soccer team, has helped the Tigers to a 5-2 record this season scoring four goals and picking up two assists. An all-state performer while at Iolani, Sasaki earned her first collegiate goals in the conference opener, scoring twice in a 3-0 win over La Verne. On Saturday, she added to her team leading point total with an assist in a 2-0 win over Cal Lutheran.
Also making contributions for the Tigers this season are sophomore defenders Marci Kang ‘06 and Jamie Souza ‘06. In a 1-0 upset of Redlands, the 2006 SCIAC Champions, Kang was specifically noted for her “tough defense” in the hard-earned win.
The Tigers compete in NCAA Division III and are currently 4-1 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
