You wrote about a former Iolani standout on Nov 30 which was great. Did you know the Iolani Football team won the STATE Div2 Football Championship on the same day, but no article. What’s up with that?

Well…because the major papers (and the school website) had already done a good job covering the state championship, I felt that there wasn’t much more that I could have added to make the story any different.

In most cases, I try to bring light to Iolani-related news and events that are little more difficult to find… things that are buried on the inside pages of the newspaper or little tidbits that can only be found on the internet or through word of mouth from the school.

In retrospect, due to the rarity of a state championship in a given year, it would probably have been a good idea to cover the win.

I appreciate your feedback and mahalo for reading,

My comment was more toward consistency in reporting. The Kauai game was included in this section with a mention of the State championship game, but there was no followup as to the outcome. Although it was covered somewhere else, some people read it in the papers and others on Iolani School’s website, however, there are others that may know only of the Alumni website to get information. I was not aware of this site until an alumnus told be about it.
