NCAA Volleyball Reunion: Stanford vs. UH
When the University of Hawaii Men’s Volleyball team takes the court tonight to face the #9 Stanford Cardinal, it will be a reunion of sorts for two former alumni. Sean Carney ‘04 and Kawika Shoji ‘06, once teammates during Iolani’s state championship run in 2004, will face each other for the first time as starters when they open a two-game series today on the Palo Alto campus.
The University of Hawaii is coming off of a two-match sweep of UOP, but fell out of the national rankings for the first time in school history this week, while the Cardinal are riding a bit of momentum with a three-game sweep of former #1 BYU last weekend.
The Hawaii-Stanford series runs Wednesday and Thursday at Maples Pavilion. Match time is 7:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. HST) both nights.
