2008 All-RMAC First Team: Kyle Pape ‘05
Kyle Pape ‘05, a 6-0, 190-lb. junior guard at the Colorado School of Mines, was a unanimous selection to the First Team All-RMAC East Division squad.
The only Oredigger to start all 29 games, Pape concluded the 2007-08 regular season ranked first on the team and second in the RMAC in scoring at 20.7 ppg shooting 45.6% from the field and 36.2% (54-of-149) from three-point range. He also finished with just over 2.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game to go along with a team-high 24 steals.
Pape reached the 20-point plateau in 21 of 29 games this winter including a career-best 37 points against Nebraska - Kearney on January 26th. This season he led the RMAC in points scored (601), free throws attempted (174) and free throws made (155) while finishing second and third, respectively, in field goals made (tied - 196) and free throw percentage (.891).
As an Oredigger, Pape has started 82 of 83 games and is averaging 16.3 ppg in three seasons. Following his first season at Mines in 2005-06, Pape garnered RMAC Freshman of the Year, RMAC Shootout All-Tournament and Division II Bulletin All-Freshman Team accolades. Last season, he was named to the RMAC East Division second team.
Pape is currently majoring in Civil Engineering.
