2008 Hickam Invitational: Lorens Chan ‘12 finishes in 2nd
Iolani School 8th-grader, Lorens Chan ‘12, shot a final round 70 to finish in 2nd place at the 2008 Hickam Invitational, just one stroke behind winner Alex Ching, a Punahou senior.
The 13-year-old got off to a slow start yesterday afternoon, bogeying the first hole, but finished the round strong, birdieing three of his final five holes. His three-day total of 213 (74-69-70) was good enough for sole possession of 2nd place - a slight improvement over his third place finish last year.
Next month, Chan will be competing in the 100th Manoa Cup which begins on June 16th at Oahu Country Club. He was a semifinalist in 2007.
