Iolani Girls Basketball: Marlene Zeug hired as Head Coach
Marlene Zeug, a 1991 Punahou graduate and former player at Colgate University, has been hired as the new head coach of the Iolani Girls Varsity Basketball team. Expected to assist her are former boys’ coaches Glenn Young ‘59 and Rodney Veary ‘70.
Zeug, a former head coach on the Intermediate and JV at her alma mater, most recently was an assistant on the Varsity staff during their run to the state finals in 2003. She succeeds Glenn Takara ‘80, who stepped down this season after 8 years with the program.
