‘Iolani School football coach Wendell Look probably wouldn’t mind cloning quarterback/cornerback/punter/receiver Kela Marciel if he could, but for now he’s willing to do the next-best thing.

Which is to get the most out of the one Kela Marciel he does have.

Look and the Raiders got pretty good mileage out of Marciel in an 11-8 nonleague victory over Kaimuki on Saturday, when the 5-foot-11, 170-pound senior caught four passes for 145 yards — including a 77-yard reception for the winning touchdown with 23 seconds remaining — made two acrobatic interceptions, caused a fumble by stripping the ball loose from a Bulldogs runner, was in on about a dozen tackles and punted six times for a net average of 35 yards.

“I don’t think there’s anybody better,” said Look, when asked if Marciel is the state’s best all-around football player.
